AVBA Volleyball ClubOff-site training: landing mechanics

Volleyball training · Ages 8–18
Volleyball asks athletes to jump, land and move again, over and over. Jarosh training builds jumping and landing technique, agility and strength for athletes 8–18.
What we work on

01
Jumping and landing
Learn single-leg and two-leg jumping, with attention to landing control. Technique gives athletes a starting point for power work.
02
Reactive agility
Practice changing direction in response to movement cues. The focus moves beyond a straight line toward the demands of sport.
03
Strength
Strength work progresses with the athlete. Technical competency comes before added load.
Volleyball at Jarosh
“We created a whole new volleyball/jump program”
“One of the biggest things we stressed was landing mechanics throughout our training. Too often jump training doesn’t include landing mechanics. Majority of injuries happen on the land.”

“My 15 year old daughter plays volleyball and has been training at Jarosh Performance for about a year. She has loved the classes and the coaching and is always willing to go without complaint.
She has had nothing but positive things to say about Nick, Mali, and Miguel. She can see the benefits of her extra strength training and recently reached her goal of getting an offer for an elite team after taking advantage of the unlimited training option for the summer.
Classes are fun but focused. Tracking of various skills are kept to follow growth and have been really encouraging.
The communication is great, and we've had a wonderful overall experience. We look forward to continuing to use the expertise and value Jarosh offers.”

“Our daughter began training with Nick in the spring of 2023, right after finishing her club volleyball season. She was eager to improve her agility for the upcoming tryouts, and in just a few months, we've seen remarkable progress.
She looks forward to her gym sessions, and it's clear that Nick customizes each workout to challenge and push the athletes, which is reflected in their impressive results. After every session, our daughter comes home excited, sharing how much better she feels.
We can't recommend Jarosh Performance highly enough!”

60min
Free assessment
Your first step
In 60 minutes, establish a baseline and talk with a coach about an individual training plan.
Tell us about your athlete: age and sport. Submitting a request doesn’t reserve a time. Our staff will text you within 24 hours to arrange the assessment. It’s free.
We start with your athlete’s goals, then establish a baseline in 60 minutes with four tests: vertical jump, a 10–40-yard dash, top speed (max velocity) and the 5-10-5 pro-agility drill.
Sit down with a coach to discuss your athlete’s starting point, goals and training plan.
Talk through an individual training plan and the program that fits your athlete’s stage: Multi-Sport Foundation (8–12), Competitive Edge (13–15) or College Prep (16–18). Beginners are welcome.
Athletes are tested routinely at Jarosh Performance, and each athlete’s results are recorded to ensure progress is being made over time. Our 90-day guarantee is on speed and vertical jump.
